Sessa from Maine has questions about organic

I have tried to educate myself on how to read a label on food items and what
different terms mean.  I know there is a difference between the “all
natural” label, the one that claims to be organic, (but only a certain
percentage of the ingredients are), and the USDA Organic label.  It still
gets a little confusing.  Also, if one can’t afford to buy organic exclusively, then which products would you recommend buying organic if you had to choose?  I think you mentioned that when you talked about apples at one

What do I do with beans? A Question from Kristin in MD

Currently, my family has little to no beans in our diet aside from the occasional baked beans in the summer or canned black beans which my children aren’t fans of.  I know that there are wonderful recipes out there in which beans are a main ingredient.  I just have this mental block about the long process of soaking beans before preparing a dish.  Please share any kid friendly, easy to prepare bean dishes that I can start with so that I can add the much needed bean back into our diets.  Thank you. “Son won’t eat meat” from a mom in Alexandria

031

Dear Nourishingmoms,

One nutritional concern is my son does not like to eat meat. It is so hard to get him to eat ANY meat. I might fool him and blend it in some things but he really does not like the stuff…

Any suggestions or ways that I can help to balance out his diet? He is a high energy kid and I think this has a lot to do with his blood sugar going up and down…
